Get It Done!

“The important thing is to strive towards a goal which is not immediately visible. That goal is not the concern of the mind, but of the spirit.” ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Flight to Arras, 1942, translated from French by Lewis Galantière

The most important role any leader has is to dream, to have vision. Without this focus all things becomes stagnant and uninteresting. The second most important role is to move towards it no matter how tedious and unpleasant some of the work or effort maybe.

“Goals are dreams with deadlines.” ~Diana Scharf Hunt

Here are some general practices which keep you moving and flowing towards your vision, the dream.

If you dread doing it – make it the first thing you do in the morning and get it off your list
If you keep forgetting to do it – make a to do list/reminder and than do it
If you second guess yourself – go back to your first answer and get it done
If you want to leave it to later – move up to making it the first thing you do
If you think your intuition is telling you to hold off – ask it why and than ask for a date to get it done by

“Success isn’t a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire.” ~Arnold H. Glasow

If you don’t move, you don’t move. Indecision, is a decision. No action, is no action. Don’t try and be perfect, it does not honor you or others when you spend more time trying to be perfect instead of getting it done.

If you have a dream, a vision it has to be activated to come to life. To activate it you simply take the first action and than another….it is that easy and it will take effort. If you do nothing, you will get nothing.

Go ahead make your day…Get It Done!
