Global Trend – Keeping Great Players Through Market Challenges

One common theme we are continuing to see right now with leaders around the world is maintaining great talent and keeping a highly motivated work environment as they navigate dynamic changes. These include challenges in the marketplace, supply chain, staffing, inflation, covid, Ukraine, workforce development, recession, and many more.

In the past few weeks, we have been providing coaching and leadership development around several hot topics to allow leaders and managers to develop and maintain high-performing teams.

Lack of Clarity
One common experience has been around the ability of leaders and managers to get to clarity quickly and to remove roadblocks internally so team members can move ideas forward. Roadblocks can be anything from working with peers and customers to managing up.

How to Move Forward
To address this situation of complexity and high emotions, we have been using a tool called 3-3-1 to provide a framework to get clear on the situation and define a path forward immediately. This simple practice has made a world of difference as the first step for leaders and team members to shift from confusion to clarity. We see leaders immediately gain the insight and focus they need to move complex and sometimes highly emotional situations forward.

When team members feel understood, have clarity on the situation, and are engaged in the solution, they feel like they are in an inclusive and collaborative environment. The top three reasons people leave companies are because they feel a lack of the following:

  • A feeling of being “in” on things
  • Appreciation for a job well done
  • Salary

This practice of 3-3-1 creates a highly productive, engaged, and forward-focused environment. If you have worked with us before, we recommend you dust off this practice. If you would like to learn more, connect to our online leadership and management track to gain access to great tools and practices to keep good progress in your team and company.

Thank you for being a forward-focused leader!

Stay humble and nimble,

Bobbie
